Tazewell is the
seat of Claiborne County, which sits along the borders of Kentucky and
Virginia. Located about 40 miles northeast of Knoxville, Tazewell is
the third largest city in Tennessee. It offers all the big city frills
far from the hustle and bustle of urban sprawl.
Tazewell is served by US Highway 25E.
Norris Lake sits along the southern border of
Claiborne County. With 850 miles of shoreline, the lake offers some of
the finest fishing in the state. This is an angler's paradise with
tons of largemouth bass, crappie, striped bass, rock fish, bream,
catfish and a bounty of large walleye and sauger. The lake is
also large enough for all types of water sports.
Excellent hunting abounds on thousands of protected woodland acres.
Trophy white-tail deer, wild turkey, waterfowl, ruffed grouse, bob
white quail, squirrel, small game and other animals such as foxes and
raccoons run rampant in our lovely countryside. |
